$175 per spot color per paper. Four-color ad cost is $550 per paper. One-week notice required. Color Contract Rates Available. Ask your account representative for more information.

Non-Profit RATES
All advertisements on behalf of and paid by a non-profit, charitable or religious organization and appearing without commercial signature will be given a 10% discount off the open rate. Tax-exempt number must be presented on the organization’s letterhead.

AUTOMOTIVE
Northern/Southern Edition
Hersam Acorn Newspapers publishes a special automotive section weekly, appearing in the classified section. An auto test drive is featured each week. The section appears in Greenwich Post, New Canaan Advertiser, The Darien Times, The Ridgefield Press, The Wilton Bulletin, The Weston Forum, The Redding Pilot and The Lewisboro Ledger.

Eastern-North and Eastern-South Editions NEW
An auto test drive is featured each week. The Eastern-North section will appear in The Valley/Oxford GAzette, The Amity Observer, The Shelton Extra and The Huntington Herald. The Eastern-South section will appear in The Stratford Star, The Milford Mirror, The Bridgeport News, The Trumbull Times, Fairfield Today, The Monroe Courier and The Easton Courier.

DISPLAY ADVERTISING INFORMATION

Ad PROOFS

The Hersam Acorn Newspapers art department is well-equipped to produce creative ad layouts at no additional charge to the customer. A “spec ad” can be requested one week in advance of appearing in paper (deadline Wednesday 5pm), the customer may make design/typographical changes at this point. A “Fax Proof ” may be requested the week the ad is running as well, but only typographical errors can be changed. No design or copy changes will be accepted.

Number of columns wide x inches high equals size of ad in column inches. Size of ad x rate equals cost of ad.

PowerPoint or Publisher. Convert these files to PDF before sending.

Acrobat PDFs (preferred format)

• Embed all fonts.
• When using Acrobat Distiller, select PRESS OPTIMIZED.

Illustrator

• Recommended: “Include fonts in document” or “convert fonts to outlines.”
• Save the document as EPS or PDF file.

Microsoft Word

• We cannot use a Word document as a completed or Camera Ready ad.
• Text and graphics will be extracted and entire ad reset.
• Alternative: Copy and paste the text directly into your email message and send images as attachments, in addition, send a fax or submit a pirnted copy of your layout or send a font-embedded PDF.

Photoshop Graphics

We do not recommend creating entire ads in Photoshop
• PRINT Acceptable File formats: hi-res jpeg, tiff, eps, or .bmp.
• PRINT Do not send graphics intended for web pages, a poor reproduction will result.
• PRINTGrayscale scans = 300dpi. Line art = 600dpi. 4/color scans = 180dpi.
• WEB RGB, 72 dpi, not to exceed 200kb
The Hersam Acorn newspaper line screen is 85lpi, the dot gain is approximately 30%.

Digital Photos

• When taking photos use the large or high quality setting for the best reproduction.
• Do not send photos intended for web pages (low quality settings) as they reproduce very poorly.
