Junior League of Stamford-Norwalk collects coats

For the second year, the Junior League of Stamford-Norwalk, based in Darien, is organizing a coat drive on Sunday, Nov. 22, to benefit three charities in lower Fairfield County: Person-to-Person of Darien, Pacific House of Stamford and Norwalk Emergency Shelter.

The league will be accepting “gently used” men’s, women’s and children’s coats from 8 to 8 at Darien Ice Rink, 55 Old King’s Highway North; from 8 to 8 at Winter Garden Arena, 111 Prospect Ridge, Ridgefield; and from 9 to 5 at Terry Connors Rink, 1125 Cove Road, Stamford.

Each year thousands of individuals in our own towns are in need of a warm winter coat. The league’s goal for this drive is to provide coats free of charge to as many people as it can through the three charitable organizations. Donation receipts for tax purposes will be available.
