School board may have reached agreement with Polansky

The Board of Education has reached a tenative agreement with School Supt. Harvey Polansky to end his job here, Board Chairman Mark Stapleton announced this evening after more than an hour and a half of discussions with Polansky’s attorneys.

Stapleton said termination hearings, which started tonight, are continued until March 25, unless the agreement is finalized before then.

School Board Attorney Floyd Dugas said the board will hold a special meeting Monday at 7 p.m. in the Board of Education conference room. If the agreement is finalized, the board will announce the terms of the agreement at that time, Dugas said.

Polansky has been on paid leave since two public school principals accused him of sexual harassment.
