The St. Joseph High boys basketball team curtailed Hillhouse’s High’s perimeter game to make a third-quarter run, but ultimately the Academic’s ability to hit their 3-pointers was the difference in their 59-47 Class LL state semifinal victory over the Cadets in Kaiser Hall at Central Connecticut State University on Wednesday night.

St. Joseph, looking to advance and win its first state final since 2001, finished its season with a 23-4 record.

Hillhouse improved to 24-3 and will meet Bridgeport Central (26-1) for the title Saturday at 8:30 p.m. at Mohegan Sun Arena.
